Coins and paper becoming passé.

This summer, the Federal Reserve is busy pumping $700 billion into the U.S. economy and expanding the country’s money supply by nearly 10 percent. However, this does not mean there are more dollar bills circulating. In fact, production statistics at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing have remained stable. Moreover, coin production has even dropped.

Why? Paper money as well as coins are not as needed by commerce today. Businesses are finding easier, cheaper answers to paper reports, coins and even paper money transactions. Employee paper pay stubs are becoming outdated as well.

NatPay’s EZStub electronic pay stub solution allows companies to realize the immediate cost savings of eliminating written reports and reducing the cost of printing and delivering paper pay stubs.

“EZStub provides employees secure access to current and past pay information with 24/7 online access,” explains Mark Williams, Marketing Director for NatPay. “EZStub was developed because business today are wanting more security. Others can not see these confidential statements and electronic pay stubs can’t be lost or left where others might take them.”

Therefore, while the U.S. Mint will make 3 billion coins in 2009, this is actually a 70 percent decline from the 10 billion produced in 2008, and it is the smallest run in 50 years.

“Right along with coins becoming less and less needed, businesses are finding old fashioned paper pay stubs are just not desired,” says Williams, “These pay stubs once passed through many hands in the process of delivering information to employees. This information can now be electronically transferred and therefore only seen by the employee with password-protected access. Security is assured through many checks and balances so sensitive data remains safe and secure at all times.”

Payroll administrators and employees also benefit from EZStub’s messaging feature. EZStub provides message fields right alongside an employee’s pay stubs. Such communications quickly go to specific employees or to everyone.

The wave of the future could very well be no more tossing the coin and no more tossing of the paper. As the nation reduces coin circulation and paper, businesses are reducing paper and converting to a simpler, easier, less expensive ways for employees to see their earnings.
